Heather has been managed for years on the uplands of the UK, it is important to maintain fire breaks and the regeneration of new heather which cutting creates.
Using dual wheeled tractors we can create cut areas across the moorland, in blocks or lines. We have the capability to work in gangs on the moorland allowing a great area to be cut with a minimum impact to moorland users. All our machines are fitted with GPS computers to allow for the location of any areas to be targeted or avoided whilst working. As the work is GPS recorded this allows for the exact heather cuts to be given to the client for a record of the works done. Using these maps an estate or client can create yearly heather cutting management plans.
